GDPR, the New Law Adopted by the European Union for Data Privacy

The European Union has a new law on the books for protecting data privacy. It is the General Data Protection Regulation, more commonly called GDPR which recently came into effect in the EU`s 28 member states. The law changes the rules for companies that collect, store or process personal information regarding EU citizens as per GDPR regulation. Over the last year we at Cedar Rose tried hard in order to achieve GDPR compliance and to ensure that all procedures and policies are aligned according to the European commission`s and Working Party 29 (WP29) guidelines. What we did over these months ? • We had weekly meeting to review and plan accordingly, • We appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO) and trained for GDPR Practitioner. • We enhanced the security level on our servers and networks • We changed our existing policies, • We introduced new policies, • We amended our contracts with clients and suppliers to ensure that they are also GDPR compliant and they provide an adequate level of security, • We set new procedures, and of course, • We provided GDPR awareness training to all Cedar Rose personnel. “In today`s world, the way we handle data will determine to a large extent our economic future and personal safety. We need modern rules to respond to new risks, so we call on EU governments, authorities and businesses to use the remaining time efficiently and fulfil their roles in the preparations for the big day,â€? said Vera Jourova, EU commissioner for justice, consumers and gender equality. Meanwhile our new website was published with a new look and feel and updated with the new policies and procedures. New cookies policy, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy are available to anyone through our website and not only that. New marketing templates and notices according to GDPR guidelines are followed so our clients can also benefit from our marketing campaigns. The road to GDPR compliance was a long and tough journey for us but we have succeeded. Strive for Compliance is Strive for Excellence.
